Comunicati Stampa - Bullets admits mistakes
Bullets admits mistakes
Singapore. A long season is over, finally one would say. Today we have the pleasure with Ben Solo, last season's third in the British F3 Championship and Bullet, his manager.
Well we want to know how you guys are doing here?
Ben Solo: "The city, the people, the atmosphere...everything is so fantastic!"
It seems that Ben Solo wanted to continue flirting with the city, but his manager had something important to say:
"Well, we could be better you know. Over the past few weeks and month I had to realize that I have made some general mistakes."
What do you mean exactly?
"See, in the beginning of this season we all were part of an overcoming euphoria, because of the Formula 1 announcement. You could see the excitement in people's eyes. Unfortunately this euphoria blinded me and distracted me in way I have never been before."
We honor your gentlemen like behavior but, if you really admit mistakes, you will have to share the details, at least you owe it to Ben Solo!
Ben Solo: "I just want to say, that I owe him, not the other way. Remember what I told you about Japan? He got me out and put me into a racing car!"
"Ben, the thing is, that I was not focused enough for this season of yours. You know when you try to balance a lot of tasks, that you will most probably fail with all of them!"
Can you explain this?
"Now, as I said with the euphoria caused by Formula 1, I put some efforts into the new project. WAR is a great team and we are aiming high in the very first season. Of course the money is short, but it is always short. We are pushing in other directions now."
Well said, but what about Ben Solo's season.
"First of all I made the wrong choice. I saw that Ben felt great last season. He did not win the championship, his mate did it after a long and great fight. He did not loose it, he knew, that he was not lucky enough. What I knew that he was not fast enough. My first failure was that I did not manage and adapt his training to close the obvious pace gap. Do not get me wrong, we are talking about .1 or .2 seconds, but it can make the difference between 1st row and 4th row. He did not score a pole yet, because I failed to adapt his training in the proper way!"
But still you say that he felt great?
"Of course, I saw it every day. He was surrounded by his buds, Striver and Maines, by girls and by you, the media! He loved it. When the season finished I saw it in his eyes, he wanted to stay at least one more year in Britain. But as his buds moved to Asia, I did not want to separate them. The F1 euphoria made me superficial and its only me to blame."
Ben is that so?
Ben Solo: "I would have enjoyed another year in Britain, but it was and is so much fun to compete with the guys(Striver and Maines) that I stated my desire to follow them and come here to Asia. So I would not say that it is your(Bullet) fault."
Humble man, is he not?
"Not only(smiles for the first time). I want to stress another thing: the car for this season was very difficult to understand. I changed everything in Ben's environment and I see that he is not able to perform in his manner because of that. After one race in midseason, he was so down, that is when I realized what I had done wrong for him in this season, everything."
Ben Solo: "Stop it, or I will tell Inga(Bullets wife) what we did in Tokio(a decent smirks comes a long on both faces)."
So you say that you did not manage the training, the season or location and the car. Did you do something good this season?
"Besides Ben and my F1 tasks I had another one, big one in my private life. It is not an excuse but, as I mentioned earlier, if you balance too much different tasks, you are keen to fail in all of them. I had to do a much better job with Ben. Here is the point to apologize also to my WAR mates. I should have been more active in our project planning and executing. Please forgive me, I will do better from now on!"
Honest words, do you have something to add Ben?
Ben Solo: "I had one podium this season, most of the time I was surrounded by mates, booze and girls. I have been to Asia before, so I know how people are. I do not regret this season. And we could do better, we can and we will!"
Did you make up your mind for the next season?
Both: "No(laughs)."
Ok gentlemen, then allow me a last question: what exactly did you do in Tokio together?
Ben Solo: "You know Tokio is like the bigger, better and older version of Vegas, so what happens in Tokio, stays in Tokio(smirks)."
Thank you very much for you time and your honesty. I wish you all the best for the future to come and please do not forget to wipe them smirks, when you see your wife sir!
"We thank you for your objectivity and discretion."
Ben Solo: "Lets go get a drink!"
