Only few driver places left in F1!
If somebody was wondering, where's the driver number 1 of the World Rankings, wonder no more! You might not be surprised, but now it's official: Paolo Grandi has joined Mercedes. With his unbelievable rating of 5,427.468 as of writing, Mercedes takes the last podium place of Driver Rating Race from Windsor with a combined rating of 6,925.408.
Team Europe F1 has also signed their first driver. Boosting a rating of 3,546.369, Aurelijus Zemeckas will surely be a force to reckon. This also leaves Europe in a very good position on the driver situation. There are still 7 active drivers in the World Top 20, who don't yet have a deal with F1 team. If Europe signs one of them, the third podium place will be very likely theirs!
There are now only 4 unfilled driver places left in the soon starting F1 series it would seem, but looking a bit deeper in the situation one can find an interesting tidbit of information. CHIPPer still hasn't signed any drivers, but as the manager of the number 6 in the World Rankings, Robert Kubica, is involved with the team, it's very likely that one of their drivers is already decided.
That leaves only 3 single driver spots in CHIPPer, HamrHedz and Europe for remaining, unsigned drivers to compete for! Will we see the best of the World Rankings fill those spots, or will the financial strategy of some of those three teams call for a driver who brings more money in?
Fun fact of the moment:
Nation with most signed drivers: Italy (4)
