Dire Situation
F3 Asia has not been remotely kind to young Ray Striver. The Season 7 British F3 Champion has lined up an impressive 4th on the grid for both opening races at Sakhir and Yas Marina, only to limp home on all occasions in a heavily damaged car, if at all.
Despite clearly not wanting to talk to the press, the young driver had some stern words at the after-party...
"Of course I'm angry, who wouldn't be angry!? Frankly a stupid question! I go from fighting for a podium to fighting to stay in the race on account of bad drivers! Find me anyone else who has suffered over 25% damage in each of their opening races this season!? Oh wait, you can't 'cus you're sat here asking me stupid questions..." said Striver when asked how he felt, recording just one 8th place finish in the Series.
"Rubbing is Racing! I myself am not faultless. I'm happy getting in the mix and accidents will happen, but its as if even the slightest contact is ripping the car apart at the minute. I've always finished alongside Maines! He's sat up in 4th and I should be with him! I'm bored now. Go home."
The 19 year old looked to break into the British Top 10 rankings this week, a success that has come along with staggering pace. Instead Ray will have to wait and see just how badly a 28th and 11th place finish will affect his global driver rating.
