Goble Motorsports to shut down; John Goble to retire
In a move that is sure to surprise many, Goble Motorsports will close its shop and cease operations at the end of Season 48, said CEO jcgoble3 at a press conference at Richmond International Raceway.
"I have been reconsidering my priorities in life, and MRC is no longer among them," jcgoble3 explained. "I have undergone massive life changes since I first got into MRC in 2015. Those changes have evolved my life in a direction that does not include pastimes such as this. Recently I feel as though I am just going through the motions, and so I decided the time was right to just walk away from the game."
"It is what it is," said the team's current driver, John Goble. "My focus is on finishing the NASC Gold Cup season, hopefully with a championship, and fulfilling my Nations Cup duties. After that... you know what, I'm satisfied with nine seasons in Gold Cup. I'll call that a career."
jcgoble3 echoed his driver's remarks regarding focus. "Just because we are shutting down does not mean that we aren't one hundred percent committed to finishing this season with a bang. We are going to give the Gold Cup playoffs and the remainder of the Nations Cup season every ounce of effort to try to bring home the titles. It would be a fine way to go out, right?"
