The playoffs working? S44 recap
This season in NASCAR Silver we had the 4 best drivers in the final 4.
Felix Lindquist, Brandon Snyder Jr, Isidre Llach, Juraj Salata.
There were a couple who didn't make it who could have argued to be in the conversation, but just look at these numbers and tell me this shouldn't be the final 4.
Between the 4 of us we share-
24 Wins
52 Podiums
82 Top 5s
105 Top 10s
26 Pole Positions
19 Fastest Laps
27 races in which we led the most laps
Onto Phoenix,
Juraj Salata -
Juraj started the race from 10th and would slowly work their way thru the field. Using a strategy where they would over cut most of the field in attempt to stay on cycle while staying out of the mess of traffic. They displayed good pace all day, but seemed to run themselves a little too hard as they had immense tyre fall off nearing the end of their run which seemed to cost them anything higher than 7th. In the end they wound up 4th in the standings.
Isidre Llach -
Isidre started the race 8th. They tried to play the long game as they would pit last of any of the playoff runners. It worked quite well as it allowed them to get by most of the traffic, and slung shot them into the lead for a short while. Ultimately they would pit and give up the lead, but still wound up running a respectable 3rd place landing them 3rd in the standings.
The top 2 drivers would be Felix Lindquist and Brandon Snyder Jr.
They ran 1-2 for a vast majority of the race. Lindquist was no doubt the rocket man this season snatching 15 Pole Positions. He lead right from the get go, and lapped everyone up to Snyder Jr before pitting. His attacking driving allowed him to scoot off into the sunset for a large chunk of the race. The only hiccup being that his pit strategy had him in the thick of traffic. Snyder Jr however played a more methodical game. Not pitting until way later in an attempt to use clear air to his advantage. When they finally caught up to each other Snyder Jr had snuck past, and was in the effective lead whilst Llach, Salata, and McPherson stayed out to gain track position. Unfortunately Snyder Jr found himself stuck behind them as their tyres were falling off, and was unable to pass. This allowed Lindquist to close in and pass. A few laps later they assumed 1st and 2nd again, and the chase was on. Sadly for Snyder Jr his car faded with about 30 to go, and all he could do was watch as Lindquist sailed off into the sunset. Over the radio he screamed the iconic Kyle Busch line, "AAAAAHHHHH! AAAAAHHHHH! *******! You guys deserve so much better!"
Post race Snyder Jr uttered, "One of these days im going to win that damn trophy!" A few minutes later he made sure to go congratulate Felix on winning stating, "He deserves it. Us top 4 were really good all year, but Felix showed he was always the quickest, and today was no different. Hopefully next season works in our favor."
There are rumors of a new sponsor for the #19 next season, and with 2 straight final 4 finishes. One wonders if season 45 could be Snyder Jr's breakout season.
All seriousness round of applause to the final 4. It was a real treat to battle you all year. Congrats to KasperCederlund for the championship. The fight all year was fantastic, and I hope next seasons fight whomever it may be with is just as good.
