Alex Chang Wins His First Ever Major Series Race
25-year-old Formula 3 racer Alex Chang does Malaysia proud by winning his first ever major series race in Shanghai 2 days ago. Known for his attacking driving style, this was not the first time Alex has finished in the higher rankings of races. He has been a regular sight on the podium this season. However, that glorious first win was always just out of reach.
That is, until Shanghai.
Starting P3, Alex immediately passed rival driver Alberto Torres to claim P2. Following a mistake from series leader Simonka Halepova, Alex managed to take P1.
The end of the race was a nail-biter, with the top 4 finishing within just over 2 seconds of each other.
After clinching his first ever major series win, it was impossible to wipe the smile off of Alex's face, as he went off to celebrate with his team after giving an incredibly jolly interview.
With just Japan and Singapore remaining on the calendar and Halepova leading with over 300 points, the battle for first in the driver's championship is all but over. However, the battle for 2nd place is still wide open, especially after this Shanghai Grand Prix, with fourth-placed Alex Chang just 17 points behind second-placed William Smyth who has 190 points.
