MRC S39 Week 9-10 Recap
The Recap Series make another return for the last time this season, this time, we will only mention F1 and Indycar, but do not worry! There will be another press release soon before the season ends with more in-depth look at the F1 driver market for next season. Now into the recap!
Formula 1
USA GP
We are back once again at the land of stupid politi- oh sorry wrong topic, so we are back once again at the Circuit Of the Americas for the United States GP, De Saint-Germain takes pole while Novikov filled the other position of the front row, Novikov jumps into first, while Woeger quickly moved up to third place, the race order stayed the same for the most part, but Atelsek stole the podium from Woeger halfway through the race
Mexican GP
Moving on to mexico city where the porsche team seems to show some serious pace as they lock the front row with Wirdhiem on pole and Atelsek behind, followed by the mclaren of Novikov, and the two ferraris with some gap before we get to the two fords behind
The race was alredy looking intresting, but what made it even better is the safety car coming out due to Osmolovskiy crashing out at the first lap, when the safety car period ended Sahat had a great run and got into P6 but that was short lasting as faster cars passed him, after a couple of laps Novikov overtook both Porsches to get the lead of the race while Morgan made a great charge getting into the podium but he fell off massively after he made his first stop, speaking of pitstops, after the pitstop period both the ferrari drivers found themselves chasing down the McLaren of Novikov, but with the huge gap he built it seems like they have to settle for the lower podium positions as Novikov won yet another race!
Brazillian GP
With the race being held in such a classic track as Autódromo José Carlos Pace or as many fans refer to it as Interlagos, it's no surprise that the more experienced drivers lock the front row, with Novikov's Mclaren closely trailing Morgan's RedBull.
Novikov had a shocker of a start as he dropped down to P4 but he managed to bounce back through all the chaos that happend that race, Atelsek took the win followed by the two McLarens of Novikov and Szabo
Abu Dhabi GP
Here in the most boring track made by Herman Tilke we got de Saint Germain on pole followed by Atelsek while the 2nd row was locked by the McLaren Drivers, Novikov managed to overtake both the driver ahead of him, while Villanova went up to P5, and since overtaking chances here are worse than monaco, not much has changed, Novikov won, De Saint-Germain got second and Atelsek finished in third and with that Novikov wins his third championship with his team McLaren winning the constructors championship, ending Redbull's dominance that lasted 7 Seasons
Quick Interview with S39 champion : Michael Damon Novikov
Interviewer : Congratulations on your third championship, you had great pace aswell as great consistency and with that you are currently the 5th best driver of all-time in terms of drivers championships, how do feel about it?
Novikov : Thank you, this season was very close, especially at the beginning, I was behind, and there was a comeback. 2nd half of the season was unbelievable.
Statistics... I don't care about it. I'm just proud, that all my titles were on weaker cars
Interviewer : With new talents that are coming into F1 like Nalbandian, who is going to start his F1 career in Redbull, and also Ferrari who are going to get way stronger after signing Redbull driver Dexter Morgan to drive alongside wonderkid Jarbas, do you think you and McLaren will have a difficult time?
Novikov : We will about see that. We don't know now about chassis performance for next season. Anyway, I will be doing my job, as always, and this is a big thing for others to beat me, it's their headache, not mine...
Interviewer : thanks for your time. One last thing, do you have anything to say about your third championship, some sort of quote or something like that?
Novikov : Somebody, Stop Me! ;)
INDYCAR
Gateway 301
Rushman gets pole followed Goldberg, Wizgey and Olds.
Rushman had a terrible time in the race as he dropped to 4th where he finished, while Portecarrero slowly made his way up to the lead which turned into a win for the portuguese driver
Grand Prix of Portland
Wizgey got pole but by being just a single thousandth of a second faster than Portecarrero but that gap wasnt as close in the race as Wizgey bolted away at the start, the race order take a long while to change but halfway through the race Rushman managed to overtake Portecarrero for second place, and that how the podium positions stayed until the checkered flags
GP of Monterey
Goldberg takes pole at laguna seca followed by Rushman, Nannini and Wizgey
In the race the only notable moment was Wizgey and Nannini fighting for the last step for the podium, but Nannini had a chassis problem, which gave Wizgey an easy podium finish at the season finale, while Goldberg wins the race, and with that he is the Indycar S39 Champion!
