Rally Series Could Be Over Before it Starts
With just over a week to go before MRC's inaugural Rally Series applications are finalised, it's looking increasingly likely that the 0.6 rated series will be a forgone conclusion.
As it appeared in the Series tab, the likely application level of drivers started pouring in, at around 900.00 to 1,200.00 at the top of the table in what was shaping up to be a competitive series, with a wide range of drivers from all disciplines. Considering this is projected to be the junior junior series to an eventual (presumed) WRS1, and a rating in line with National F3, it's quite surprising to see that this field has now had its curve skewed dramatically by several new applicants, with a staggeringly high rank and skillset for a series of its type.
This begs the question of whether to stick around, after tailoring my driver to rallying skills training for the past season, and investing in the relevant staff, to effectively come to nothing, or fire up the age old question of ranking caps for feeder series'...
It remains to be seen if we can assume a champion already, but if history repeats, as it usually does, it's safe to say a result to be proud of is looking pretty scarce...
