First Win for Young Hotshot
Mark Davidson has enjoyed a relatively positive debut season in the F3 British Series including 4 podiums. However despite some relatively good pace his first series win had eluded him, until today. Starting second on the grid for the feature race at Thruxton he had some early battles with Rob Scott, however by lap 16 he had stretched out a seconds advantage to the 26 year old. Despite this he was 9 seconds behind the Race leader Den Hussey and the lead increased after the pit-stops around lap 21. However on Lap 29 Hussey was forced to pull over at the side of the track with a problem with the Gearbox. this left the young 18 year old Davidson at the front of the pack. He had a 5 second lead to Rob Scott with 13 laps to go but did have slightly fresher tires. He didn't just manage to maintain his lead but managed to increase the gap, taking the checkered flag 9 seconds before his nearest competitor.
Davidson said after the race that he was "Absolutely delighted with the result and can't wait until he's back on the top step" He sits 6th in the standings with 6 races remaining. He also stated that he would "Be Back in British F3 next season" and early indications are that his Team, Team Earthquake, would like to see him push for the series title.
