Keterangan Pers - Exceptional Season for Starr
Exceptional Season for Starr
18 year old John Starr came into Season 11 with mediocre hopes.
"I had only run in two races before the season began, so we knew experience wouldn't be much of a factor," Starr said,
When Starr and his team signed up for the 11th season of the Formula 3 Latvian Series, he had the lowest rating out of all the other drivers signed up for it.
"At the beginning of the season, finishing inside the top 10 of the standings was our goal," Starr said, "and that seemed a little far-fetched, given my age and experience."
The season started out slow for Starr, but after the 3rd or 4th race of the season, things began to click. He got his first win in his 20th career start, and ended the season with 5.
"That first win was nothing less than exhilarating," Starr said, smiling, "I had only been in 20 races and had already gotten a win. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't proud of myself and my team."
Starr didn't slow down from there. Every race, Starr had one of the cars to beat. He ended the season finishing 3rd in the point standings, only 23 points out of 2nd. Congratulations to Slovakian Martin Vrabec for winning the championship. Starr's stats for the season looked like this:
3 Poles
5 Wins
8 Podiums
10 Top 5's
14 Top 10's
His overall stats for the whole season look like this.
46 Starts
5 Wins
10 Podiums
12 Top 5's
24 Top 10's
His rating went from 0 to 428.611 in just one season.
"I definitely think I could be one of the best in the future," Starr said confidently, "I can't get cocky or overconfident of course, but who knows what the future holds? My team and I just have to keep showing up and performing well, and sooner than later we will be a force to be reckoned with."
Wheeler: "The United States has a Bright Future"
After the topsy turvy season Nick Wheeler had in Season 11, his spirits seem to have come back around at the beginning of Season 12. Jason Anderson gave Wheeler a call after the resignation of teammates Drummond Bennett and Brandon Knight. The intent...
