Drummond Rages at copycat Meado
There were riotous scenes today at the Thunderdome as Drummond Bennett unexpectedly lashed out at a driver and manager.
It has become very common to see Drummond around the paddock in tracks around the globe, either coaching some of the Rage Team, spotting future talent or just visiting friends. It was the latter that he was doing today when scenes reminiscent of the classic cult movie seemed likely to play out.
Drum (who won F3 America in s10) was watching the qualifying with his good friend Steffen Leholk (who was runner up F3 Oceania in s11, also retired) both drivers were in the garage of promising young rookie Liam Leholk who was taking part in the private race inhis Team Europe branded Mclaren.
Shortly after the event due to a close Drum burst from the garage saying 'what the....' He went straight to the scruiteneering paddock and started shouting at some random driver.
The seasoned driver in question Ritchardo Meado(who in his 7th season of racing finished 448th in rookies) had just qualified 15th was being subjected to a torrent of abuse, the reason for this verbal onslaught? Quite simple really.
Meado and his manager have copied the liveries of their private cars from another friend of Drummond and Rage Motorsports newest member Leonard McCoy. Not content with this blatant plagurisation of origional artwork, they have seen for to edit the number from an 8 to a 3. Emeralds car design skills are widely known and admired, he is even on the MRC Graphics team. the fact that someone would be stupid enough to copy his works without consent is unbelievable.
Luckily Meado managed to hide in a portaloo until Drummond calmed down and left. Neither Murdo nor Drummond was available for comment although the retired Rage driver was overheard saying 'wait till the others hear about this' as he was leaving
