Forced Retirement...

Ray Striver is known for climbing fast, early success and a decent sized trophy cabinet at the tender age of 23. And so was completely unprepared by questions of his retirement, though discussions have been had at length with his manager on the subject.

"I literally don't know which way to turn. This racing world is in revolution, and though we're already winning races this season it doesn't take a fool to catch on that these new, super intelligent drivers are going to leave us behind before long and sit atop the tables week-on-week." said manager Adamski.

"Ray is a seriously intelligent lad with phenomenal pace and driving skill. The way i see it we can try and spend millions this season maxing out his intelligence and hope for the best or we can cut our losses after this season and go for broke with our junior driver. We had two very clear goals when we took on Ray. The first was to win at least one Season Series which we managed right off the bat in Season 6. The second was to emulate my first driver Guy Wellington in becoming UK #1 driver. We're sat at number 2 and frankly, Gudas has been outstanding, echo'd furthermore this afternoon by taking pole in the inaugural Formula E event".

Crazy Torque's reporter Mike Raffone caught up with Striver after a dismal qualifying for his first outing in Indy Jr, at Buddh, India.

"Pfffff. What do you say to that!? Ninth is no place to start at this level, not when you're ranked 3rd in the series. We screwed up practice, lost two complete runs. Mistakes in both attempt in Qually..."

A disaffected Ray shakes his head.

"This, i don't think is anywhere near the true representable pace of the Crazy Torque machine. More my own lack of understanding the cars limits"

Moving on to the subject of retirement, Ray seemed displeased.

"I and my manager have no interest in retirement, we're competative no question, but for how long? It won't serve us well to retire now anyway. The influx of 'new' build drivers hitting the scene is astounding. We'd essentially just be gifting them a few seasons head start and playing catch up all over again. We'll go broke on account of college fee's before we give up this game. It will be interesting to see what happens with Tony Randall and his manager first. Maybe he can be my guinea pig?

We also pressed the question of a junior driver in the Crazy Torque ranks. But very little is known of Adamski's potential future contender.

After the first week of the series, reporter Tess Signal met up with Tony Randall's manager to ask for his reaction to a comment from Ray Striver. "Its no secret in the paddock that we have been using Crazy Torques test facilities, but we wil...
