Goodbye Nick

After the announcement that Wheeler was going to quit racing in the Formula series, everyone expected a response from the racing community. Perhaps more than anything the world expected the other Rage drivers to speak up. But the other members of Rage have been surprisingly quiet.

Lyn, who shows up at more than her share of single races, was even absent for a long stretch of time. But Rage showed up in numbers at Bejing Olympic and that is where we found the Dutch driver as well.

“I needed some time to think things over.” Lyn explained to the press after her qualifying stints. “I've been in love with racing for a long time. But when Wheeler quit, I felt like I had to reconsider a few things. In the end though... I decided I shouldn't quit because of the actions of another. I still enjoy racing, that hasn't changed.”

“I'm really sorry to see Nick leave the sport. Part of the allure of motorsport are the drivers and the stories they weave. I know Nick might have bumped heads with a few people along the way. But he wrote one of the most entertaining stories this sport has ever seen. I think that's a loss a lot of us will feel.”

“For me personally. I considered Nick a friend and a rival. So, I'm really sad that he's leaving. I'm sure the other Rage drivers feel just as strongly about it.”
