Lehdistötiedotteet - Part 2 Driver by Driver Review + Fun Facts

Part 2 Driver by Driver Review + Fun Facts

Tomek Pasek: 21st, 14 points, best result: 8th Monaco Feature
Good news, he made some brilliant peformances and he also seen the chequered flag every race likewise for 9 other drivers but the bad news was that he did struggle in most races and lost out on the U22 championship to rival Reckziegel.

Sasu Suikkanen: 22nd, 8 points, best result: 8th Macau Feature
The young Finn had no time for trouble this season, bringing the car home every race also, signed off the season with a phenenomal drive at Macau, one of the guys to get the strategy right.

Abilio Nario: 23rd, 8 points, best result: 8th at Pau Sprint
Did he even show up this season or what? Really, he started off well at the first race and then after that he disappeared and was nowhere to be seen, shocking after what was a fine one last season.

Ron Scott: 24th, 3 points, best result: 14th at Spa Sprint
Done alright, his season ended with a whack with Pospisilova while coming back to add up his scoreboard.

Joe Paulposichon: 25th, 2 points, best result: 14th at Pau Feature
His season was quiet and consistent but his major highlight was coming through the field at home in the wet and bring home his only 2 points of the season, quite an underrated drive that. Let's not forget he was up there in the U22 championship too

Aleksantari Kokkonen: 26th, 1 point, best result: 15th Macau Sprint
He was alright but he'll be happy he's beaten Paulposichon in the U22 standings while he's gotten the upper edge in the overall standings.

Alan Kulwacki: 27th, 1 point, best result: 15th at Monaco Sprint
Monaco was his highlight of the season, in the other races the top 20 was a tough ask for the young American. Charge up them guns for next season.

Reinhold Hinteregger Jr: 28th, 1 point, best result: 15th Macau Feature
He was so much better this season and got the hard earnt point he deserved in the end too, despite he lost 2 on the final lap.

Honzik Volak Jr.: 29th, best result: 16th (x2) both Zandvoort races
His season kinda downgraded when it came to points and stats but not when he's behind the wheel, he was still up there in the points, just couldn't get them.

Tony Muller: 30th, best result: 17 (x3) both Spa races and Macau Sprint
He started very awfully, crashed out in 3 of the first 4 races until by the end of the season he got his act together. Next season, he should be one of the favourites for the U22 title if he has a season like last season.

Ema Nishino: 31st, best result: 18th Monaco Feature
No upgrades or downgrades. U22 title will have to be her priority next season and some overall points too.

Bruno Dacosta: 32nd, best result: 18th Macau Feature
He returned after a couple of seasons out and put in some decent peformances and saw the chequered flag a bit more, best peformance was at the finale where he went from 32nd to 18th which was his best result of the season.

Krystna Popsisilova: 33rd, best result: 19th Monaco Sprint
She did alright on the street circuits, fought for points at some stages but she got to improve her peformances at Zandvoort and Spa.

Philip Goldberg III: 34th, best result: 21st Monaco Feature
Once again racked up the consistency, could come to play in his U22 title shot next season.

Csabi Szasz: 35th, best result: 22nd (x3) Monaco Sprint, Zandvoort Feature and Spa Sprint
Didn't have the best season, didn't he? He was often in the barriers which didn't help his cause.

Mikolaj Muszynski: 36th, best result: 23rd Macau Feature
Best of the new rookies this season and has got a good future behind him.

Nadia Portocarrero: 37th, best result: 24th Monaco Sprint
Couldn't defend the Females title due to the more fierce competition but she got her U19s title once again. However, this season was tougher but the experience counts alot.

Joao Travoada II: 38th, best result: 25th Macau Feature
He's gonna have to up his game next season if he wants that U22 title, this season was pretty mediocre at best, not gonna lie.

Tex Cobb II: 39th, best result: 27th Macau Feature
He was the best qualifier and fastest over a single lap out of the new guys but in race pace, it was reverse and he wasn't consistent but give the guy some time, he's building up the confidence and experience he needs cause he's got a good future ahead of him.

Lewis Latorre: 40th, best result: 28th Macau Feature
Finishing position can't reflect on what he's done but as a new kid, it was acceptable at least.

Fun Facts:
* There were 3 National Number 1's this season, David Nalbandian from Argentina, Csabi Szasz from Romania and Ema Nishino from Japan. (Can't count if we had more or less the previous seasons but as of right now but pretty sure a couple of ex-drivers are their own countries Number 1 right now.)
* Most drivers had their best results at Macau Feature, even Lewis Latorre who took his best result there but retired on the final lap.
* U24 championship was actually mental in the final race, Jarbas and Hinteregger scored overall points but didn't score any points in the U24 championship however.
* About that, Reinhold Hinteregger suprisingly scored more overall points than U24 championship points.
* And no, Chloe de St-Germain doesn't get bonus points for winning a race at Spa as a U24, nor does Michael Damon Novikov for that pole at Zandvoort.
* 28 drivers scored points out of 40 in the FIM points system but under Top 20 points, 33 drivers would've scored. 1 less in both than last season.
* We also had 6 different winners, matching last season, but 11 podium finishers, 1 less than last season.

Stay seated for next season guys, things will heat up once more :D
