Lehdistötiedotteet - Developing a Thick skin for Longevity

Developing a Thick skin for Longevity

Hi mates. My New driver Tex Cobb II just had a DNF his first in season series. Sure I am disappointed but I also watch the race. It happened on lap 25 of a 27 laps race. Me and another young driver had been battling back and forth over 9th place all race long. Nearly every lap had a position change. So I was nervous. We had a contact in a position change where the other driver mad and error, Now most young managers would say well it's his fault! When analyzing the why's I noticed his tire wear was down to 25%! Well as I said in earlier article tire wear below 30% has increased chance of Mistakes! That is True proven again here. My drivers Tire wear was 43%.. So his fault? Not so fast! My driver Has no reactions and No Composure for when the other driver mad the mistake.. Nor does he have any Overtaking skill to properly get around the other drivers mistake. So Both share equal responsibility for the crash!

Now How to you develop a thick skin to deal with these kinds of DNF's or any other Kind. First learning the game and reading how every skill effects your drivers performance. Second analyzing every race that does not go well. You learn more from 1 failure then you do 10 success's or wins! Finally for me I race a lot by running many races everyday most of my failure occur in Non series races. These are learning tools. For me keeps me sharp and puts the sting out series Failures. I learn this from Gold cup many season back where everyday is a qualification or a Race.. You don't shoot your expectations to high from success and you shrug off failures quickly.

So the more you race and analyze your races your less likely to rage quit over one bad thing!

Good Luck and Have fun!
