Lehdistötiedotteet - Novikov. Rapido. Wellington!?

Novikov. Rapido. Wellington!?

In a remarkable show of form, the unseasonably quiet Jay Wellington has kicked off the 6CRC: Private Cars Championship with a staggering pole position, fending of competition from world renowned greats like Formula 1 front-runners Novikov and Rapido! But all is not as it seems unfortunately, as strategist manager Adamski admits to have played the numbers...

On the week that saw Wellington rise into his nations Top 5 ranked drivers, the usually outspoken Brit, now 24, has been decidedly quiet, struggling for form in the UK's long standing Single Race Championship, and further still a string of mediocre performances in WTCS.

"We saw an opportunity with our invite to Six Continents Racing Cup Private Series. Open to all entries and all chassis, I've been looking for a decent opportunity to open the private garage and dust of one of several cars I bought off of former racer Ray Striver in exchange for a years supply of KFC. The majority of the 43 car field have jumped into Ariel Atoms, or Caterhams, which are light and twitchy, but massively down on power... So naturally I figure I lead with brute strength and roll up in a Ferrari. I won't be able to match Novikov or Rapido in the same chassis, not by a long way so looking at the first race in Tripoli, Libya, we see long straights and and long lap spent at full beans, where the Ferrari is dominant! Sure enough pole was in the bag, race craft might be a different bag, but if we can rack up a haul of points against the grain, maybe we can hang on and spring a surprise in the standings through the next races..."

The Brit may still remain under the radar for the rest of the season as he sees out the WTCS season that he has been less competitive in than his NOVA team had foreseen. But this Private Series, coupled with a half-season delay in the next UK Single Race Championship - which is now scheduled to start from next season - could see Jay turn a few more heads as he comes of age...
