Q/A with manager: First week, Nations Cup

Sophia Barker from Totally Fast Magazine interviews manager of young promising Djibouti-Englishman Wilsean Dahir, FPM8 as he looks back at a tough beginning of two new things.
Q: So FPM8, Wilsean had to leave Assen disappointed after a good qualifying, what went wrong?
F: Wayne Wilson, he tried a first lap overtake that was never going to work and they both spun. No suprise he did it again in the wet to another driver, this time it sent him out of the race, so it's a warning sign for him.
Q: It was diffcult to overtake here at Assen so it meant that Wilsean had to finish outside the top 10 and then finished in the top 5 in the wet by staying out longer than the others, how did you planned that out?
F: The fuel and tyres wear out less than in the dry because it's down to different driver styles than colder tempatures.
Q: Going onto the Nations Cup, Wilsean made his debut for Britain but that as well didn't work out.
F: To be honest, it felt a test session since Wilsean needed to understand the car, he has like only 3 weeks to extract it since he'll be turning 22, it's only for the Under-21, his favourite tracks like Spa will be coming up after, shame.
Q: Going to Ellinkon, a track where he doesn't know well...
F: He had no setup so he needed to study the track and the car at the same time but surely the car took longer.
Q: Comparing to F3 or A1GP cars, which one was harder in which conditions?
F: Luckily it was raining but we had to take it cautiously because it would be embarrassing to crash on the first day but we were competitive nonetheless, the Feature Race, we decided to fully extract the car as it's like a final school exam, he handled it perfectly but then Fedor Vasiliev in the Russian car crashed into Turn 1 then he hit some debris which damaged his car aerodynamically and he struggled before he spun at the Turn 3-4 chicane and he told me that the car was undriveable so we had to bring it in, it was a shame because he was going for a top 8 from 17th. So the difference is A1 Wet > A1 Dry > F3 Wet > F3 Dry, A1GP cars are alot more harder to drive so you need to prepare yourself mentally, physically and technically just so you can set the car up properly cause you can easily get it wrong in Free Practice.
Q: The other British car (Tom James) at the other side of the world (at Highlands) didn't finish the feature race aswell...
F: He was running in 5th, not a good finish for the British Juniors and it was his first time too!
Q: Wilsean has been selected for Lippo Village, he knows the track, he's won a race there before, will it be the time he can fully show his potential?
F: I hope, his warm-up times were competitive too! It's a good sign, we can go to Qualifying, hopefully challenging our rivals, and most importantly, USA.
Q: Ok FPM8, good luck!
F: Thanks!
