Interview: Our we back yet?
After a terrible weekend at Austin and a horrible start at Mid-Ohio meant that his season started with nightmares then at the Feature Race, starting from 29th, he used all of his skills available to climb into the top-10, eventually finishing in 8th, despite fighting a train for 4th, first time he saw the cheqeuered flag this season. Rebecca Southworth talks to the young Brit for the first time this season.
Rebecca: Well done Wais, a brilliant 8th place!!!!
Wais: It's TERRIBLE!!!! Only when you're starting at the front! (jokes)
Seriously, we gave it our all, it's not easy to overtake here so I can be happy peformance-wise. All I needed to do was be patient and take them one-by-one.
R: Best overtake?
W: I don't know, I can't remember them or even count them either.
R: Where could you've been if you didn't have the mishaps?
W: Maybe fighting Alan and Vini for the win.
R: Wais, you're good at comparing or commentating other drivers, (giggles), what do you think about newboy Alan Smythe?
W: He's older than us as rookies but he's adapted to a F3 car very quickly but once the younger guys train very quickly, I'm afraid the glory would go.
R: Wais, you're down in 24th with 35 points, is your title charge going to start at here?
W: No, no. We're just about to leave here. Hopefully if we get a trouble-free weekend at Denver for once, then I'm glad to say that 'WE ARE BACK!'
I don't know where we are at the moment after my 8th place finish at Mid-Ohio, 3rd fastest lap means nothing at all, I just want the full comparaisons for the next 2 rounds so I can analyse them properly.
R: Alright Mr. Technical Guy, I'll leave you alone (giggles) Good Luck!
W: Thanks!!
No, Rebecca. Don't even try.
Will Wais finally find out if he's a serious threat for the championship as soon as possible?
Our You Serious ?
