French Favorite

After Phillipe Germaine took his victory lap at Mas Du Clos in Tour De France series there was little surprise by the roar of the crowd from the number 1 driver in his home country. There was much cheering during the podium awards for both the race and series awards presentation for both the French drivers and second place winner of the series.. But when score board scrolled down the series 4th place finisher of the series Tex Cobb and his team was in shock by the roar and screams for Tex.. After wards a French reporter asked the team manager to grant Tex his first interview of his career and was granted.

Mari Du close Paris Reporter.. Tex you looked in shock about the cheers for your results on series.

Tex I was and still am in shock.. All I have heard is the French dislike Americans and I am from Texas I not even like that well outside southern states. I was quite surprised by the warmth and excitement I have been given now.

PR Well many of the young particularly the lady's have been curious about you and your pre race dress.. I might add your pleasing to the eye in your jeans boots and hat.

Tex (blushes profusely) I would not know of what you lady's would see in me. My manager protects me from public by keeping me very busy training.

Pr Well after one race where your DNF you ripped off section of car and tossed it into stands but then you smiled a very happy and boyish smile to crowd and waved. Since then your managers first press release went viral on social media and you have quite a following in many countries..

Yet it's your work mans racing habits and racing so much they constantly have something to talk about,, 4 wins and around half of your 300+ races in top 10.. How do your feel your first season went?

Tex well I believe it went extremely well I got a little overconfident winning my first 2 rookie series races then disaster hit. A String of DNF's that forced a car change and me to listen to my team and coaches more.. I have so much to learn. I feel privileged and honored to be on same track and series as the Great Phillipe St Germaine.

Pr (smiles) You have flown 4 different flags after each win The American , Texas , The Confederate and a Christian Cross. What is next flag you wish to fly on your next win and any regrets about flying the confederate flag some consider a hate flag?

Tex (chuckles) Well only racists consider any flag a hate flag but because I am southern proud Texas proud and American proud I hope we can find funding soon to paint my livery in reflection of these and put lucky 13 on it.. (face drops in sadness) But I was Hoping to use this flag in this series a Pulls out a French flag with Jules Bianchi number for my next win.. Since it is unlikely I give to you In honor of my 4th place overall finish.

But what are your future plans for next season your future seems bright.. Many want to know..

Tex ( looking shy thoughtful) Well I received some encouragement from a French driver to join Indy international series.. I wish him the best in that series. But my heart is the formula cars and preparing for Formula 1 one day.. So my manager is applying to the best formula series that well have me.. I mean most prestigious..

Pr Well I know from This Fan you just won over I wish you much success and will be following your career closely.. I hope you will grant me interviews in future.
