Bauer says De Florio deserved DNF
Michael Bauer was clearly in an upset mood after today's Italian Series race in which he extended his streak of top 10 finishes despite an early incident on the first lap of the race. Your intrepid reporter did, however, manage to get a few words out of the second year driver.
I: Michael, you've added to your streak of Top-10's today, and to date have had one every race of the series, surely that must be exciting for you.
M: Honestly, I didn't even notice we'd been that consistent. I'm really just frustrated with the way today's race began.
I: You had an incident in Turn 4 with the Italian De Florio, what happened?
M: He's come in like a maniac on lap 1 and instead of putting on a nice clean race tried barging his way past. It's irresponsible and frankly ridiculous at this level.
I: So you were not at fault at all?
M: No, I had a good line and he's just tried to barge through. Damaged the car and dropped us back off our 3rd place start on the grid. I was happy to see he took himself out of the event though.
I: That's a fairly strong response.
M: I need a fairly strong drink.
The young American then disappeared into his trailer to the sound of some Iron Maiden and this reporter had no further luck with either him or the team.
