nwheel Will Not Seek Re-Election in USA
The current USRA president, nwheel made a statement today to USRA members, that he would not be seeking re-election. After offering advice to his unknown successor, he stepped out of the USRA Forum Hall and gave a statement to reporters.
"It's been a pleasure serving as the first president of the USRA. As this was the first season, there were inevitable kinks and quirks that came with the responsibility of running the Nations' Cup team, and being the face of a country's administration. Though I believe we overcame them and made the best of the first season, I believe there are managers out there that are more enthusiastic about the nuances of this job.
When I was elected, I was excited to run the A1 team, work with young drivers on improving their skills, and in general be a bigger part of American racing. As the season wore on, MRC management added more responsibilities, causing me to lose focus on my own goals and my driver's goals. It caused me to become distant with my Rage team, and by extension Wheeler became distant.
So, in short, I think I bit off more than I wanted to chew. I can certainly handle it, I just don't want to at this point.
Wheeler will continue to be available to A1 machines, and I will continue to offer advice and guidance to young American drivers. Hopefully by season 20 we'll be competitive as a nation in the A1 series, and in the world rankings in general. Rookies, feel free to message me any time with questions as you did this past season. Veterans, watch out. Wheeler is poised to have his best season yet, in Season 14.
Thank you."
