Wais takes breakthough podium at Denver
At the Formula 3 American Series, Wais Vé Kuba finished 10th at the opener but after that, Wais retired from races where he would've taken bigger results and finished 16th at the Ohio Sprint Race, but he managed to turn it all around by taking his first top-10 finish in qualifying, starting in 7th place on the grid, Wais had mechanical problems during the warm-up session and was in risk of not finishing the race, but Wais kept his head down and pulled out a stunning drive, Wais stayed around the Top 5 for some time, before ran into the podium, seeing guys infront of him (Diedrich and Moore) spin out. Wais took the 2nd fastest lap of the race on Lap 33, only 6 tenths down from Hansen's one set 2 laps earlier on. At the end, Wais battled with championship leader Rusty Shackleford (who still leads it now) for 2nd, going side by side before Rusty held him off for P2, Jackson Storm took the race win by 2 seconds from the two. His manager came to celebrate with the youngster, the aftermath meant that Wais climbed from 23rd to 13th in the championship. His manager ThatFPM8Guy said that 'Wais drove brilliantly today, he battled with the top guys, the setup was spot-on, he drove like he never drove before and is also the best of the rookies (from Evans and Greene) at the moment. But there is another race on Sunday and Wais will start from the 2nd row of the grid, hopefully Wais can impress again.'
