A Rookie Perspective
After several experienced drivers have stated their criticism of the current game mechanics, let me humbly outline my point of view as a total newcomer. And while I'm still totally hooked to the game, that doesn't mean I don't see problems in it.
The largest downside, as I see it, not much really depends on the player in a meaningful way. Of course, there are certainly things I don't know yet and that come with experience, but as far as I see, driver's success is almost completely defined by skill numbers, which just grow over time, and setup archive, whether built-in or collected manually. Lack of driver control, mentioned by Brandon, bit me today too. Perhaps strategy could include goals and conditions, which would then determine whether to have it easy, or to risk and push, depending on race stage and situation.
So, let's see if this game continues to be my favourite pastime. So far it certainly is, despite the problems outlined above and in press releases by those with more knowledge of MRC. But I fear the game process might be too repetitive to keep me hooked for long...
