Lehdistötiedotteet - Formula 2 South America
Formula 2 South America
We're three races into the season and so far the F2 South America series has been dominated by Eros Budellaci (24). The rest of the top five are also all young drivers under the age of 25. It looks like the youngsters are going to be fighting for the top spots this year. One of the four youngsters fighting for 2nd is Lyn Vos, who now stands 4th in the overall rankings.
Press: Congratulations on your 2nd place finish.
Lyn: Thanks. It seems like noone can catch Eros right now. So, I'm really happy with this result.
Press: It seems like a lot of young drivers are doing very well in the Formula 2 series. Why do you think that is?
Lyn: I think it's partly because of Formula E. A few really strong drivers moved from Formula 2 to Formula E. But this generation is just extremely talented. It's tough to compete against these guys.
Press: Rainer Stoff has been very active in the news lately. What do you think of him?
Lyn: Stoff has got nothing to lose. He's only 18 years old, his career has only just begun. By all rights he shouldn't be able to challenge drivers at this level yet, but here he is.... And he's doing well. I can understand why he's so excited. He's got a bright future. Rainer Müll is strong too. McLaren is training a few really strong drivers.
Press: What about your links to McLaren? It was rumored that you had joined the team. But you haven't spoken on the matter yet.
Lyn: I was trying out for the team. It's true. But in the end I found I couldn't offer the team what they deserved, so I decided to leave. I still support them as a fan, so I'll be rooting for them in Formula 1.
