The girl that cant win is #1
Lyn has claimed 5th in the overall rankings in the Indy Junior International series. Getting 5th in a field this strong is both encouraging and reassuring. "Now I know I'm on the right path." Lyn told the press.
With this week's results Lyn has moved up to 151th in the overall driver rankings and is now considered the leading Dutch driver. "I'm #1 now, huh? Well.... I'm sure tons of other drivers will now turn to me for sagely advice. How about this: 'Sometimes to be fast, you need to slow down.' That's some Aristotle level stuff, right?"
The members of the press required a minute or two to recover from this golden nugget of wisdom, before asking Lyn about the plans for Rage in the next season. "I think they will tell you where they are heading soon enough. All I can tell you is that Drummond decided to leave the sport and that his brother Murdoch is now racing in his stead. Drummond was a very knowledgeable and smart racer. He was something of a mentor to me. So it's kind of weird that he's gone now. Now it's my turn to help his little brother. I'll try and offer him the support that his brother offered me back when I was just starting."
The press was also curious about what Lyn would be doing next season. "I haven't decided what series I'll be partaking in next series. But it'll probably be either a Junior Indy series or F2. I also hope to claim my first win next season. I know it's crazy.... but I still haven't won a single race. It's almost like somebody has placed a curse on me. I do well in races... but I just can't win them. I've also been asked to join a team that will be reporting on F1. So when I won't be racing my self, I can talk about other people racing!"
We also asked if she wanted to talk about any other drivers. "I want to wish Marko and Rocco the best of luck in the Indy International series. I really enjoyed racing against those two. I still believe both of them will go far in the racing world."
"I'm also excited that Ray and Crazy Torque Racing are still in business. I still can't match his pace on the race track, but I feel like I'm closing the gap. Ray had better not slow down. Cause the moment he does..... I'll leave him behind in the dust."
