New Things for the New Season

New Things for the New Season

A few things have been included or updated in the game. Here's a short recap of those changes.

DRS MODIFICATIONS

Slight adjustments have been made to DRS zones to balance DRS usage, especially in F1 and Nations Cup races. It will have less effect where overtaking was way too easy and easier when overtaking was nearly impossible.

WET TYRES ON DIRT TRACKS

Wet tyres will now be more suitable for races on dirt tracks. This will be specifically useful for cars which don't usually race on dirt tracks, like F3 or F4, which can be used on such tracks in private series.

NEW F2 SERIES RACE SYSTEM

F2 World Series has been changed to be closer to the real F2 championship, which from 2021 will have two sprint races and one feature race. There will be a single qualifying session and the results of this session will make up the grid for the third (feature) race, which will pay full points. First sprint race will have the top 10 from qualifying inverted, and the second sprint race will have the top 10 from the first race inverted, both races paying slightly less points, just like in real life.
The intention is for next season to apply the same system to F3 World Series to make it similar to real F3. Also, new F2 and F3 cars are expected for next season.

SEASON SERIES DISCOUNTED ENTRY FEES

If a driver was accepted into a Season Series with a discounted fee, the money will be repaid from his/her sponsor income. 100% of signing bonus and 60% of weekly sponsor income will be used until the entry fee is fully paid.

FORMULA E ATTACK MODE

Attack Mode has arrived to Formula E. In MRC this will mean one activation for 4 laps. Just like in real life, drivers will lose time (about 1 second) and be overtaken when they activate it, but then you'll have a power boost for 4 laps.
Managers will have to set the lap in which to use Attack Mode in Race Strategy screen. Also like real Formula E rules, Attack Mode is not available during a safety car period, so if there's a safety car when you activation lap is coming, Attack Mode will activate once the safety car leaves the track. Also, if you have Attack Mode active and a safety car comes out, it will pause and restart once the safety car has left.
Attack Mode is mandatory. If a driver has not used it, the system will activate itself at the end of the race, with or without a safety car.

RALLY ROOKIE SERIES

As a part of creating a rally driver career path, a rally rookie series has been created. There will be only one rookie rally per week with all rookie drivers being assigned to the same event.

CALENDAR CHANGES

Some changes have been made to Season Series calendars. In F1, Imola and Portimao have replaced Hanoi and Shanghai. F2 World and F3 World now have calendars closer to real life with a couple of tracks added to round them up. Indy has seen Nashville added in place of Richmond, and NASC Gold, Silver and Truck calendars have been changed to the 2021 real ones.
