U20 World Championship - Round 1 Interlagos
As the U20 World Championship is set to get underway this weekend one must be impressed at how quickly the field of forty three drivers came together.
I know we are still only talking about practice (insert Allen Iverson Rant) at the moment but the feild looks to be very close with anyone having the ability to claim the first victory of the series.
Thirty eight of the forty three teams have already completed their set-up runs with varying of different results but with fifteen of these team all within a second of each other one must wonder how quickly it will be for a car to move from first to fifteenth in such a tight field. Not to mention that all thirty eight cars are within two seconds of each other.
This series is starting to look like the small things are going to make a huge difference, who gets the car set-up at each race, tire management, pit strategy etc... It may not be the best driver that wins the series but the one that manages the overall series from track to track that wins this series.
We will soon find out how close the field really is when qualifying takes place later tonight and the drivers attack the tracking in anger maybe for the first time.
