S13 National Cup - UK
Season 13 saw the first Season of the national Cup where we could see how good nations were compared to each other and see who has the best drivers.
A great feature in this series is that two races are set aside for drivers who are 21 or younger. This gives young talents the chance to show what they can do and provides a more rounded view of which nations are better.
For the UK, their was no question who would be our number one driver, two time Formula E champion Gudas. After that Headington established himself as the second choice driver in both the A1 races and by winning the F2 Oceania Series. The only other driver to race in all 11 of the 'main' A1 races was Kemp, who had won the Formula 3 British Series twice in a row and went on to win it for a 3rd time in series 13.
The last 'main' A1 race spot was rotated between other drivers. Herbet, Shoemaking and Thomas all had a few races each in A1.
For the U21 spots, Beardy showed us what he could do early on and earnt the chance to race in all of the A1 U21 races. The other spot was rotated between four drivers Edward, Burnard, Ripley and Bell Jr. Hopefully they have been able to learn from this and become the stars of the future for the UK.

In the end we managed to just hold off Austria to finish in 13th place. I think that was a good result for us for now. Hopefully in 5, 10 seasons time we can be up there in the top 5.
Adamski4048 did a good job as president last year and has been re-elected for another term before he steps down. Next season will be just as fun as new U21 drivers come in and try and make the A1 places there own. But we will face a challenge when Gudas retires and we lose our best driver. But it will be a good challenge to try and minimise this.
The best thing for the UK team to do is build for the future. We are not the best at the moment but we could be one day. Hopefully we can learn more about the game and A1 and become a force in a the future.
