All New British F3!
Well... not entirely all new, but a brave refresh of the acclaimed British F3 Series went live today in time for Season 14. A myriad of new tracks and old in a strategically structured, competitive new schedule. Which still has several days remaining for new driver applications!
Round 1 - Donington
The historic Leicestershire GP circuit needs very little introduction. Moving forward to take its place at the head of the series, Donington should prove an even keel for all drivers.
Round 2 - Thruxton
The nations fastest circuit moves forward to week two, this powerhouse race track should heavily favour any drivers in a raw speed oriented chassis to mix up the field.
Round 3 - Dunsfold
Or, as it is commonly known, the Top Gear Test Track! Voted in to the series by managers and the GBM community from a group of proposed new tracks. Dunsfold exists as a figure-eight track with a crossover issue to attend to, many suggesting the track take on a new tunnel at turn 1. A completely unknown commodity as a race venue.
Round 4 - Silverstone
Britain's flagship venue plays host to the races in week 4 as the series returns to a GP circuit, bridging the gap into the seasons mid-way double header!
Round 5 - London
The first half of the season wraps up in style at the first of two high profile street circuit venues. The nations capital will prove the series first real test of concentration and strategy with streets notoriously offering up increased Safety Car probability.
Round 6 - Gibraltar
The second half of the campaign kicks off with a fly-away race in Gibraltar! The mammoth 28 turn, 7km endurance track finally has its deserved place in a series! Similar mental skill and strategy to London should ensure that these two venues provide all the acclaim they deserve!
Round 7 - Knockhill
Heading back to the isle and venturing north, Knockhill retains its place in the calendar. The quick Scottish circuit is a real mix of driving and chassis styles, with no real fast, slow or twisty sections in its brief 0:50.000 approximate lap.
Round 8 - Bedford Autodrome
The final new addition to the schedule see's one of the countries smallest counties - Bedfordshire - pose a challenging stop-start track which will favour a high braking/acceleration chassis.
Round 9 - Oulton Park
A classic track that simply had to remain on the bill, Oulton Park is a favourite among many racing purists with steep undulation, hills, off camber corners and "power-through" sections which has remained host to many different sporting diciplines in the UK for generations.
Round 10 - Brands Hatch
Inspired by the British Touring Car Championship, Brands Hatch has spent many seasons providing championship-deciding drama and great racing! It seems fitting that the full length Brands circuit play host to the final round in Britain's F3 Championship!
On another note, Adamski is once again seeking presidency of the National Motorsport Association before suggesting taking a few seasons hiatus from the role in the name of sharing the experience with others. Expect slightly fewer rotations, but continued and regular updates if elected!
