McCoy Takes Maiden Single Race Victory

Leonard McCoy, Irish manager Emerald's young driving protege, claimed his first Single Race victory today after a blistering drive coupled with some good luck on the way.

McCoy qualified in a respectable 11th position on the grid given his age and skills. But regardless of his inexperience he managed to climb to the top of the pile and hold off some formidable opponents in doing so.

In a race littered with safety car-led laps, 43 in total, McCoy took advantage when the third safety car outing allowed him make an unscheduled pit-stop.
McCoy was the only driver in the field to make his pitstop at this time handing him what turned out to be a race winning advantage in the end.

When McCoy crossed the finish line taking the race win, Emerald, along with McCoys team went absolutely crazy!

Team manager Emerald had this to say after the race:

"McCoy has shown today he can live with top racers on the grid. There was no way his pace alone could overcome every opponent, but that's where the team came into play.

They came up trumps with their race strategy and handed Leonard a major boost half way into the race.
All he had to do was stay on the track, keep calm and the win was his.

We're made up for him right now as this type of race win, we thought, was beyond McCoy for at least a few seasons given the level of competition in single races.
But... We'll take it!"

In a week where most of the world were celebrating everything Irish with St. Patricks Day on Tuesday, McCoy made sure he stood out in the sporting world as a beacon of green light and hope for his country!
