Ray Striver is back... In the paddock having lasted all of 8 laps at the Motegi 200 in today's Indy Jr event in Japan.

"So I figured I'd take a different approach, maybe I was being too aggressive lately, maybe I was shooting myself in the foot. So I reduce my risk by half and crash out sooner than any other race this season..."

As per usual Ray didn't hang around, but we did get a brief statement from manager Adamski who was keen to address his drivers woeful form.

"We'd been doing well in hindsight, clawed our way back to 4th having dropped to 7th in the standings with two podium finishes. And here we are again, as if to assure we don't start gaining any momentum. I hired Striver with two clear goals, we are not going to achieve the second one, that seems pretty certain. When you break it down to the very core you start asking yourself some key questions:

- Are we making any real progress?

- Are we likely to dominate a top flight series in coming seasons?

- Are we learning at an exponential rate at age 24?

- Are we winning races week on week?

- Is there any cheesecake left?

The answer to all of these is no... So where does that leave us? We've been outwardly spoken regarding retirement, painful as it is to admit, but I like to uphold a certain standard in my drivers, and that isn't being met. We have a time scale in mind, and it's short I won't lie".

Notably in attendance at this press meeting was a young man, the sort of young man who wears short sleeve shirts under long sleeve shirts under short sleeve shirts and has a Facebook page ironically but is never online. The sort of guy who will buy a porcelain swan just to smash it in the name of art before calling his mum to wish her a Happy Tuesday. The boy wore a Crazy Torque hoody and a blank name badge.

We didn't manage to catch any sort of a word with the young man, presumably Adamski's future contender, but we did catch a new name in the CT ranks with his PR Polly Carbonate labelled on the guest list.

How long will it be before we see Adamski's new racer emerge?
