Hilton - This Season Was Beyond Anything I Expected

We here at NBC Sports have been observing one of our top ranked young guns in the USA, and the young gun in question in Kasey Hilton. Yes, that surname might seem to spell fame and trouble due to his family's past, but don't let that deter you. Our reporter, Chuck Charles, sat down with him and found out that he is quite the opposite of the Hilton trend, and that he also seems to be a diligent worker. Not only that, but we've hard a lot of rumors going around that he has evidently had a major shake-up within his team's personnel as well as a boost in his drive for success, and Chuck has taken the opportunity to see if Kasey can clarify or deny all of this.

CC: Hello, Kasey. You've been having quite a good time, haven't you?

KH: Greetings, Chuck. :) Yes, I sure have!

CC: Okay, so first things first. What were your expectations for Season 11?

KK: Well, I guess you could say rather average expectations at best. I mean, I had a really good Season 10 by my standards, but I just didn't think there would be much improvement.

CC: Now that the season is over, how would you describe your results - in the qualifying, the races, and the final standings?

KK: I'm stunned, honestly. I competed in two editions of the Russian Challenge series, and I did fairly well on both occasions. I say fairly well, because I've not had any experience on those tracks. Both times I finished in the top half of the standings. However, the biggest result of all is obviously my success in the American F3 series. I fell short of the top five, but man, I felt like I had won a championship or something! I was always racing amongst the best, above my standards... some DNF's proved costly, but now that the season is over and I have managed to come home 6th, with a huge financial boost, I can't complain too much. Not at all, really.

CC: Indeed! We've also heard rumors that you lacked the determination and possibly the skill in the past couple seasons, but this season you picked up some motivation and inspiration, as well as a horde of trainers. We even heard the extravagant rumor that you had parted ways with your manager Mr. Vinales! Is this true, or do you feel that you have always been focused and on top of your game?

KH: *sighs* All of it is true. Firstly, I really wasn't determined enough up until Season 10. That's when I began to pick up my pace. I saw an article where they had interviewed Nick Wheeler, and he had said something about Americans lacking the determination and how we were falling behind or something. I saw that, and I was like "Oh my God, I hope he's not referring to me as well. I don't want to be among those at fault! I must get my $$$ up and going." I spoke to Mr. Vinales about it, and he was just telling me that I shouldn't worry about it too much. The thing is, I liked Mr. Vinales. He was supportive, friendly, and relaxed - but there's the problem. He was too relaxed. Sometimes it felt like he did not care, even though I'm sure that's not the kind of tone he intended to put out there. So, prior to the American F3 finale at Laguna Seca, we had a long discussion, and we both decided it was time for us to part ways. As for the trainers, I was hiring them left and right. I mainly relied on driving coaches and technical coaches. They have made me work my tail off, but it has been very beneficial. My best coaches so far have been Cesare Rizzitelli and Mark Arthurs, they are the best in the business and have given me tremendous help. All of them have been wonderful.

CC: Wow. Definitely impressive stuff, and... I'm amazed you still have any money left. Oh, and would you like to reveal who your new manager is? If you do have a new manager, how are you and him/her getting along?

KH: I was considering holding off until the beginning of the new season, but I can't hold back any longer. My new manager excites and scares me at the same time. Her name is Natalia Romanova. Yeah, I'm not sure what convinced her to help me either. She excites me because she is very focused and, in a way this is good, very political. Mr. Vinales wasn't at all. She is the exact opposite of Mr. Vinales. She's not as care-free, not as friendly, and it can seem as though she's not supportive of me sometimes with some of her hard-hitting comments. However, I understand she's just trying to motivate me. Another thing that scares me about her is, of course, the fact that her other occupation is being a spy. I can't help but get nervous around her. Oh, and she really doesn't like being the public eye like Mr. Vinales, she has no form of social media or anything. She probably doesn't even want me talking to you about...
