Fully Staffed Rage Machine Spotted in New Hampshire

Speculation is swirling in New Hampshire, USA today as the #88 Rage machine has arrived in pit lane for testing, complete with "Old Liberty" sitting in the driver's seat. As many already know, New Hampshire Motor Speedway is the home track of Nick Wheeler, the operator if the black, red, and blue #88. It seems as the season is coming to a close, the driver is looking for one more sentimental race prior to his anticipated retirement at the end of the season.

Also to be noted, was the full 18-man crew that accompanied the machine. This will be the first time in Wheeler's brief history that we see a full staff of his own mechanics in the garage area. Either he has money to burn, or there's something extraordinary going on in the #88 garage.

Wheeler was unable to be reached for comment. He went completely off the grid after his explosive interview and statement of his intent to retire at the end of the season. Since then, Wheeler has seen success in F3 North America, running back-to-back podiums and climbing to within 7 points of his teammate for 5th in the overall standings.

As far as we know, even Wheeler's Rage teammates have not been able to speak with him since the announcement, despite Bruce Wayne's involvement in the Season Series, and Wheeler's entry to the Road Rage Challenge Custom Series, where he currently sits in 7th, just a couple points out of the top 5.

Locals are excited to get a chance to watch Wheeler drive in front of a home crowd, one Rage fan saying "if this is really the end for Wheeler, I can't wait to see what he's going to do to this field. Take the motivation he always brings to win, add some 'end-of-career-itis', and a home track, and... GAH I can't wait! This place will be shaking if Wheeler is anywhere near the front at the end. I hope we see the fairy tail ending. Maybe he'll stay if he gets a win here."

Unfortunately for the die-hard Rage fans in attendance, Wheeler is already facing a couple strong drivers in Max Andrews and Sandor Torghelle. The #1 Ukrainian and #3 Hungarian drivers are by far the favorites as Wheeler, ranked #10 in the United States already sits P4 in the pre-race rankings after just 10 drivers have signed on.
