A Totally Legitimate Decision...

Discourse fell on the WRS paddock tonight as series applications were finalised. 4x WRS Champion, and outright legend frankly; Wynn Hunter, sat without a care in his synonymous pink liveried Hyundai, ready to set off to Monte Carlo for the tenth and final time, and begin a highly anticipated swan-song season in which he would attempt a last gasp effort at a 5th WRS title...

However, all was not in order, as the final entry list was published, Hunters name was nowhere to be seen...

Querying why his entire team would now be heading back home to Wales, opposed to joining one of the calendars most illustrious events, organisers dropped the bombshell that Hunters entry fee of a cool €1,000,000 had not been submitted!

Rushing immediately to contact the teams new financier Rich Benefactor - who had only held the position for 8 days - it became quickly apparent that the teams hard earned funds had instead been swallowed in a series of questionable Crypto investments, subsequently liquidated, and Mr. Benefactor is nowhere to be seen...

So with that, and unwilling to sully a lower WRS series with OP skills, and not willing to try his hand at NASCAR like every other big name veteran seems to want to do these days, Hunter will hang his helmet up one season early, and pass the torch along to his understudy Hayden Vale, who will look to pack his things and ship himself over to whichever series will have him at such short notice...

(Not actually dead, just retired) Following the shock bankruptcy heard around the WRS paddock, it seems inevitable that Visvaldis Ceļš will win title #6 this season. But perhaps that would be selling the challengers short. We all know about Ceļš...
