MRC S39 Week 3-4 Recap

Welcome to the (Unofficial) MRC Recap of week 3 and 4, where we highlight events that occurred in the last 2 weeks of the major MRC Series

Formula 1
Spanish GP
De Saint Germain gets pole position with Atelsek second, while home favourite Marc Villanova qualified 7th on a car that isn't even made for this type of tracks.
In the race nothing notable happend apart from Morgan's charge through the field into P7, Villanova ended up in P9 but still a great effort from the spaniard

Monaco GP
Another bad qualifying from morgan as he qualified p26, his teammate De Saint-Germain didn't too well either, only managing to get p6 behind both sennas and the jordan of, Meanwhile on the front row we got Atelsek and Novikov

At the start of the race Novikov got jumped by Speedowski while Atelsek infront started building up a gap while Macieira slowly started gaining positions over the first few laps, Atelsek continued on to win the race followed by Speedowski who gets his first podium of the season, Novikov 3rd and Macieira with an impressive 4th for WAR
Overall a bad weekend for the RedBull team

Canadian GP
The front row of the grid was filled by jarbas who got pole and Atelsek, right behind them in P3 is Marc Vilanova who had a fantastic qualifying session, his teammate Pasek did pretty well too starting from P8, WAR continue their great form from last weekend as they qualify 4-5 with Reis ahead of his teammate, Another disappointing qualifying session from Redbull as De Saint-Germain qualified P13 and Morgan P21
In the race Macieira moved up to 3rd while his teammate Reis fell down the order with Pegaso's Vilanova.
Around the mid-point of the race speedowski and Reckziegel were pretty much in contention for the top 5, slightly after, Szalonna (the ferrari driver not the ford driver) made a huge charge for the podium as he just about overtook Reis before the last chicagne, Jarbas won the race with Atelsek in second, WAR finished in the same positions they qualified in, Morgan had quite a comeback finishing in P7

French GP
De Saint-Germain gets pole followed by Atelsek and Morgan
Atelsek had a horrific first laps as he dropped massively while his teammare Wirdhiem advanced through to p3 by lap 10, but Atelsek got back through, Morgan DNFd in lap 24 after a chassis failure forced him to leave the race, Giving De Saint-Germain a clear shot for a win, Szabo finished second, while Atelsek finished on the last step of the podium

Standings after Day 28
1. Atelsek (132pts
2. De Saint Germain (104pts)
3. Novikov (90pts)
4. Morgan (78pts)
5. Szabo (71pts)

IndyCar
Grandprix of the Americas

The qualifying results for the Grand Prix of the Americas has been an intresting one as Goldberg, someone who hasn't been mentioned much, Took pole position, Followed in order by : Portocarrero, Rushman and Nannini
Goldberg kept his lead for almost everylap that wasn't in the Pitstop window, and the results were looking to stay the same until Rushman crashed out of the race at lap 42, which did not change who was leading but it certainly spiced up the rest of the podium positions, at the end nothing much, But what's really important is Goldberg who had his greatest weekend of this season, Showing his true pace that he had when he was racing in the World GT Series
In an interview with Goldberg he mentioned that it was mostly luck, but the strategy played a big part, he also mentioned that he is hoping to finish 5th in the championship

Grandprix of Indianapolis
The Indy 500 is closing up but we have one more round to go, same location, but a diffrent layout, anyways.
Yet another close qualifying, Portocarrero on pole with goldberg second, followed by : Wizgey, Rushman and Nannini

Nannini did not have the best of starts as a mistake on the last corner of the first lap sent him straight into the middle of the field, overall the race seemed to end with Portocarrero winning, but that did not happen as he had a huge shunt into turn 11 in lap 46, giving the lead to Wizgey, and he did a great job keeping that lead to the end, he won while sharing the podium with Goldberg and Rushman. Nannini made a comeback up to 7th at the end

The Indianapolis 500
Rushman took pole, Portocarrero completed the front row
The race itself was absolute chaos with many DNFs, With many crashes in turn 3 most notably : Rushman in lap 183 and Wizgey DNFing from P1 on the final lap, must be heartbreaking for the brit

Standings after Day 28
1. Goldberg (316 pts)
2. Portocarrero (314 pts)
3. Wizgey (281 pts)
4. Nannini (260 pts)
5. Rushman (257 pts)

Formula E
Uruguay
Vidmar gets yet another pole followed by Wolf jr and Carter
Carter overtook Wolf jr in the first lap, from there it took 18 more laps until he overtook Vidmar as he made a mistake, continuing on to win the race, followed by Vidmar and Wolf jr

Chile 1
Carter narrowly got pole from Vidmar, with only 9 thousands diffrence between the two, Lawley will be starting from P3
Nothing happend (and i mean litterally nothing.) In the race, so the final race order is Carter 1st, Vidmar 2nd and Lawley 3rd

Chile 2
Just to be clear this is not the same track as chile race 1
Vidmar gets a clear pole, followed by Carter, Wolf jr and Lawley
Lawley jumps Wolf at the start and from there nothing has changed as Vidmar won the race, Carter finished second, and Lawley third

Standings after Day 28
1. Carter (126 pts)
2. Vidmar (116 pts)
3. Lawley (78 pts)
4. Wolf jr (73 pts)
5. Olo (56 pts)

MOTO 1
Jerez
Da Costa gets pole followed by Nalbandian, with a huge gap to the rest of the field, the two kept racing from lights to finish with Da Costa just barely clinching the win

Bugatti Circuit
Da Costa got another pole and once again he was followed by Nalbandian, The two had another full-race battle until nearing the end where Nalbandian pulled away and took the win

Mugello
Da Costa dominated the qualifying session, maintaining his quali streak, Nalbandian qualified 2nd as usual but it seems tough for him, and that was proven by the race start as Da Costa bolted away while Nalbandian fell to the clutches of Hunter behind him, where he defended until the last lap where hunter went past on the main straight

Standings after day 28
1. Nalbandian (161 pts)
2. Da costa (145 pts)
3. Hunter (140 pts)
4. Kos (99 pts)
5. Rocket (94 pts)
