Wellington Emulates Striver
In a scene befitting of one of retired British driver Ray Striver historic races, Jay Wellington today achieved a remarkable feat!
Jay's well documented diabolical start to F3 Eastern Europe took a very slight turn today as Wellington at least managed to complete both races of the weekend. However, Race 2 saw the English teenager stroll home, two laps down in 15th having spent a staggering 35 seconds in the pits repairing an accumulative 108% damage to his MYG chassis.
"So... Recent races have seen me DNF from minor contact, today we see three seperate incidents essentially rendering the car undrivable, and mathematically void, and we wrestle the thing home in 15th!? NOVA must put something in the paint, 'cus that ain't right..." said a bemused Jay.
"I watched Ray Striver pull off a similar stunt in his McLaren several seasons ago, he had well over 100% unrepairable damage. I like to think if i can be held in a similar esteem to him then i'll have made it, sort of..."
Wellington continues to struggle with terrible misfortune in his series races, languishing down in 22nd in the standings. Though NOVA remain confident the youngster can find form enough to at least break in to the Top 10 before the end of the season.
