Pressemeddelelser - Driver talking # 7

Driver talking # 7

Hello everybody, today a new episode of my series drivers talking.
This time talking Vincent Ritter (38 years old F1 pilot at Alpine F1 Team).

TD: Hello Vincent. Nice that you do this interview with me.
VR: Hello Tom, it's a pleasure

TD: Vincent, you drove for the Alpine F1 Team (formerly Skoda) for a long time, I think it's been 8 seasons now, at the end of this season you will hand over your cockpit to Michael Wittmann. What are the reasons for this change.

VR: I'm now quite old and during this last season, I really feel more competitive to drink different alcohols rather than driving well. Maybe it was because I started to drink also before the race? So the next seasons, I will follow all F1 races from the bar, where I can perform the more. There are younger good drivers like Halatienne and Wittmann who are happy to help the team. They are talented and still got a good margin of progress. I think they will progress as much as the car and I hope they will be able to reach at least this 10th rank for Alpine. They can do a better job than me.

TD: Vincent, you can look back on a long career (20 seasons) so far. I would like to mention just some of your stations here: Formula 3 Polish and Czech Series, Indy Junior Series, Formula 2 World Series, 911 Supercup Series, Formula 2 Europe Series, what else can appeal to you, what is your next challenge?

VR: I'm happy with my career, in particular from season 30 when I won Indy Junior and then F2 World, followed by 2 podium in F2 World again and then, I was happy to help Skoda and then Alpine in F1 during 8 seasons, the emotion of scoring points for a low budget team is great. My only regret is that I wasn't able to help Alpine reaching the 10th rank during a F1 season. Now, I will return in Indy Junior and try to got a good result, I hope my experience will compensate my decrease of skills. And I will obviously continue to follow Alpine and advice their new drivers to help them to reach the 10th position for Alpine. I will see if I retire at the end of S42 or S43.

TD: Vincent, I wish you all the best for your future and thank you for this conversation, let's go a drink now?

VR: Thank you. Talking with you makes me thirsty, so let's go for a drink. Or two. Or three...
