News About Development 2012-03-17

Hello everybody. We have some big news today. Many of you already know about it, but here is some more detailed info.

Most important thing is that we already finished weather for races. There is already detailed information about how the weather works, how it changes, and so on. It is good to know that races on ovals are always on dry track and no rain is allowed. The probability of rain is different for tracks, so don`t expect much rain in Africa, and expect more in Great Britain or East Asia.
Most important weather characterictics for you is track condition, which can be anything between absolutely dry and completely wet. It is indicated by percentage of water on the track. You can set weather usage for your tyres in your garage, which means what water percentage you consider as ideal. That means that during your pit-stops your driver will get that tyres which usage is closer to current weather.
In your driver style you can set your weather tolerance parameter, which means how fast after the weather change you should go to early pit-stop. That helps to avoid situation when your driver will take new tyres, but after few laps he will come back for previous tyres, if the weather changes again. Weather tolerance means how much worse based on tyres usage must the current tyres be from most suitable tyres to go for early pit-stop.

We also added some more parameters to your garage. If your tyre condition drops under Minimum tyre condition, your driver will go for earlier pit-stop to take new tyres. If the repairable damage of your car is bigger than Maximum repairable damage then your driver will go for early pit-stop to make the repairs, otherwise he will wait for regular pit-stop to repair the car.

New parameter No Pit-Stop Laps in driver style means how many laps before finish your driver would not go for repairs or change tyres under the conditions mentoned in previous paragraph. For example if your driver makesdamage to the car 2 laps before finish, it does not make any sense to waste time in pitlane and you rather finish the race with damaged car.

We also created new screen for driver training. It is not translated to most languages yet and the drivers will not get better before full version starts, but at least we are another step closer to full version. I will explain you more about this in next article.
