WilliamsF1 midway marker - kickstart to the Skoda Academy -series in F3
Hey friends and other curious readers! ;)
The season is over the midway point and WilliamsF1 season has been decent, not great though. The season start was great for us, but since then we have had difficult times in the races; Drivers have done what they could but in some races the results were not there - not to mention few tactical mishaps on the way.
Dispite the difficult times, there is a lot of positives too:
We have found a great rookie driver, Arnaud Briand, who has met all our expectations we set for him so far and done even more than anyone could have expected in his first podium - he stood in the highest place, but not only that, he managed to keep it from the start until the finishline - We never expected polepositions for him but he has been great in qualifying.
Yrjö Allas, started out really great to get the podium in Melbourne, but since then it has been difficult. All we can say we know his potential is somewhere high above the late results and have a strong belief in his work and hope to repeat the last years trend that Allas is superb in the 2nd half of the season.
The W22 Williams car has been great piece of art, it has a beast for an engine, very fast in straight, adequate acceleration, better than ever aeroparts for top speed focus mindset car and ofcourse great visual look of Rothmans Williams, the car of champions. We have a Winning car and cabable drivers for it so the 2nd part of season should only be great for us!
History Repeats Itself In Williams - The Blue And White Changes To The Red Nostalgic Look
The car look for next season has not been officially introduced in English yet so here it is. The color of Winfield Williams by kacinoman.
The Williams W23 car will go red next season, back to the years of '98-'99. That was a turning point time for the Williams that had won two consecutive team championships and managed to keep the champion Jacques Villeneuve in the team first time since Keke Rosberg in 1984. The things that made those times really hard for Williams was that Renault decided to pull their engines away from F1 and they had to make decision for the season quickly. Williams chose to continue using Megachrome/Supertec engines, that were basically unlabeled, underpowered updates for Renault RS9 engines. The team sponsor Rothmans wanted to advertise their Winfield brand more, so the very popular blue and white colors had to be changed to the red. Also the legendary engineer & aerodynamicist Adrian Newey made contract with Williams's rivals McLaren. The Dominance was lost in those seasons and Williams fell to level of the mediocre teams.
Now WilliamsF1 MRC team wants to honor those difficult times and maybe we can even do justice to this livery and to the high expectations the fans had for 98 - 20 years later in MRC!
Williams annouces this season a two new private series for the fans - Skoda-Williams Academy Seniors & Skoda-Williams Academy U23
Together with my friend BELIA we came up with the idea for making our fans an own Formula circus they can join and challenge our current drivers Allas & Briand there!
BELIA suggested the name could include Skoda to honour our great fan and friend, LePrez who likes Skoda. I wanted to give BELIA and LePrez some sort of role in the team and thought this senior private series, where us in charge of the team could also do some scouting for future, would be just perfect for them to organize with my help - so the idea for the name was more than okay for me, also adding to the fact that Skoda is a great brand and more and more visible sponsoring many kinds of events.
Today the series will have their first races in both Seniors and U23 in Melbourne and we will try to update the results in the forums - so stay tuned.
I want to thank BELIA and LePrez and ofcourse all of our new and old voting fans for their dedication to vote us - keep doing the good work and I am sure we can honour you personally next time!
