Wilhelm Tell shows his potential

It is no secret that Wilhelm Tell wants to step into the footsteps of the Swiss national hero with the same name. But there is still a long way ahead of him. At the moment Wilhelm Tell drives in the shadow of Rocco Rapido who is the best Swiss driver at the moment. But already in his first full season, the 19 year old showed off his potential.

Satisfying statistics
In his first full season Wilhelm Tell reached 7 polepositions and 52 podiums. In 14 medal ceremonies he could even climb on the highest step. In addition to that Wilhelm won 4 trophies. He won two bronze and one silver trophies at costum series. The biggest success this season though, was the win of the official series. Wilhelm Tell was able to win the F3 Oceanian Series.

Exciting finish at Official Series
Two races before the end Tell was ranked 2nd tied with Galimov, nine points behind leader Gordo Merino. Tell managed to win the first race at Adelaide which would give him provisional second rank two points behind Gordo Merino. He would need to stay in front of the Spanish driver and Galimov should not make 10 points more than Tell in the last race. Galimov and Gordo Merino both drove with full risk and in the end Galimov won the race. But Tell could secure the win of the Series with the second place in this final race.

Confident for the future
After this season the management is very confident that Tell will have a bright future. GM Hanson: "I’m not sure how far we will go with Wilhelm, but I think he can be a Top50 driver. We don’t know if it will be enough for the formula 1, it’s still a long way and a lot of things can happen. ”

Difficult start to next season
Tell wanted to stay in F3 for another season. But his wish did not come true. The management decided to put him into the F2 African Series.And as if that wasn't complicated enough, Tell has to manage the start of the new season on his own. The whole management will go to vacations for the first two weeks. GM Hanson: "That’s a good test to see how Wilhelm masters this situation. He is a grown up, and we hope that he can show us good results when we come back. Otherwise we will have a long talk.”
